Dress and the City

Here's the latest from Launch787 !!! Stay tuned in the next couple of weeks for my next 'blog' - it's a little more up the 'home decor' alley. I'm headed out for the interview this afternoon, and I'm hoping I don't come back to work with too many goods (and an empty wallet.) Happy hump day kids.

DRESS AND THE CITY

Ladies, in a city where pearl snaps and jeans are revered, we need not forget the unsung hero in our wardrobes –the dress. Fewer things can take you from feeling drab to fab in a matter of seconds, and it’s time that we recognize and revolutionize the power of these feminine frocks.

I admit, I own an unmentionable amount of jeans and concert t-shirts, and sadly they’ve become my daily uniform. However, Leslie Gandy, owner of Dress Shop, has inspired me to change my casual ways — and kick it up a notch. And there’s no place better to turn over this fashionable new leaf than at Dress Shop. Located smack dab in the middle of Congress Avenue, the store has become a favorite of locals and tourists alike. With a welcoming atmosphere and price points that will please most every wallet, Dress Shop has a little something for everyone.
One of their most popular lines, Yoana Baraschi, is a collection of colorful, flirty, and fabulous dresses that when worn are sure to have those around you asking, “Who is that girl? And where did she get that amazing dress?”
And if you really want to give them ensemble envy, check out Dress Shop’s collection of accessories — did I mention how reasonably priced they are?! A great looking necklace or bracelet with a great looking dress is like icing on the proverbial cake.
Now, if you are, what we like to call, “style challenged” — fear not. Dress Shop sends out weekly emails to their avid followers entitled “What to wear this weekend.” It’s like having your own personal stylist right there in your inbox. In addition to weekly emails, they’ve created a blog that showcases new store arrivals, trunk show information, and upcoming events. It’s all just too convenient. In fact, I don’t want to hear you say, “But I don’t have anything to wear,” ever again. The jig is up. You have no excuses.
So now it is time that I take my own advice and embrace the dress. I have worshiped at the jeans altar for far too long, and a change is extremely welcome. I think we all need to channel our inner Carrie Bradshaw, and remind ourselves that a dress doesn’t need a fancy occasion. Every day is an occasion to look fabulous, and for those days, there’s Dress Shop!
