Today is my first day to jump in to SXSW, so I wanted to share a few tips and pointers to surviving the week. In the meantime, I'm going to pretend the below picture is me. Just being all chic and fabulous. Not minding at all that we've been taken over by a billion out-of-towners. And I have no where to park. As you were.
- On the Move -- Once you get downtown, don't. move. your car. Find a safe place to park [ensure that it can be left overnight!], and leave it there. Seriously. There are TONS of options for transportation to get you from party to party. Personal driving service, Uber, is hitting the streets of Austin for SXSW, and will be at your beck and call all week! Want a free ride? [who doesn't?!?] Track down the Tito's Trolley and take a ride on their tricked out ride. Or you can catch a complimentary ride with Chevy!
- Keep it Charged -- How are you going to keep up with your twitter and instagram feeds if your phone dies? Make sure you keep a charge with this darling [and handy] back up battery. Don't have one? Fear not. Just stop by The Recharge Lounge to refuel your phone and your cocktail--and play some old school games while you're at it! Lifesize Jenga, anyone?
- Keep a Finger on the Pulse -- Social media is the driving force behind this year's festival. If you're not on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook, you might as well toss in your hat--and go sit on your couch. Stay apprised of the hottest parties, free drinks, and live music by keeping plugged in! Here are a few accounts hash tags to follow--so you can party with the cool kids.
Most importantly of all, stay safe! Party smart. Don't drink and drive. And just be an overall responsible adult. If you're from out of town, enjoy our amazing city and have safe travels home! Oh...and please don't move here. K, thanks.
