#GIRLBOSS

It seems as though Sophia Amoruso's #GIRLBOSS has been popping up everywhere lately, so when choosing reading material for my flight to LA over the weekend, it was an obvious choice.  CEO of the famed online retailer, Nasty Gal, Sophia shares her story of how she went from a life of petty theft, to schlepping vintage clothes on eBay, to becoming the CEO and creative director of a multi-million dollar fashion company.  In addition to her inspiring--and hilariously self-deprecating--anecdotes, she shares invaluable advice and motivation to get up and get shit done.

Personally, I'm at a point in my life where I'm asking myself daily, "Ok, now what? What's the next step? How do I do _________? How can I _________?"   #GIRLBOSS served as the proverbial swift kick in the ass I've been looking for and gave me some of the answers to my own questions. Simply, there's no easy way to success, but by following  your passion, sticking to your guns, doing your absolute freakin' best [while not comparing yourself to other people's 'best'], and DO YOU [who gives a crap what everyone else is doing?!], you'll set yourself on the path to become your own #GIRLBOSS.  And magic will happen. Whether you're contemplating starting your own business or need a little motivation to be an all around successful bad ass, #GIRLBOSS has got you covered.

Some of my favorite quotes from #GIRLBOSS...

"Abandon anything about your life and habits that might be holding you back.  Learn to create your own opportunities.  Know that there is no finish line; fortune favors action.  Race balls-out toward the extraordinary life that you've always dreamed of, or still haven't had time to dream up."

"Figure out what you love doing and don't suck at, and then try to figure out how to make a living doing that.  Don't be scared."

"In whatever you do, you're not going to stand out unless you think big and have ideas that are truly original.  That comes from tapping into your own creativity, not obsessing over what everyone else is doing."

"The energy you'll expend focusing on someone else's life is better spent working on your own.  Just be your own idol."

...and finally,

"Bad bitches are taking over the world."
