Cindy & I with the Junk Gypsy sisters, Jolie & Amie Sikes |
Last month, during Antiques Week,
PBTeen hosted a fabulous gathering at the Junk Gypsy World Headquarters to launch their new line,
the Junk Gypsy Collection for PBTeen [available at
PBTeen.com]. I've always admired the youthful, colorful
PBTeen brand, so when they announced their collaboration with my favorite JG gals, I couldn't have been more excited--and to have the opportunity to see
the entire collection in person in Round Top was the perfect way to wrap up Antiques Week! The amount of thought and creativity that Amie & Jolie Sikes put into the collection is clearly demonstrated in each piece. From a denim tufted headboard to a red-fringed butterfly chair,
the Junk Gypsy Collection for PBTeen speaks directly to two of my favorite design aesthetics--it's a little bit country, and a little bit rock n' roll--perfect for the road lovin' gypsy ramblers in each of us!

One of my favorite pieces from
the collection is the
Sweetheart of the Rodeo Jewelry Case, which is ingeniously fashioned from a guitar case. I have, what one might call, a 'jewelry problem,' so I love any type of storage solution that allows me to display my collection so that I can
see what I have.
This case does just that! The pegs perfectly hold bracelets and necklaces, while the the shelves hold other accessories + perfume bottles.
Plus, there's even space for rings! So good...

Another favorite from
the collection is the
Backstage Clothing Rack. Confession: Despite the pretty pictures of my bedroom you've previously seen on the blog, what I've never shown you is the garage-sale-style clothes rack in the corner of the room that holds my latest shopping indulgences, recently done laundry, or whatever just won't physically fit in my closet. It's embarrassingly not cute. Imagine my excitement when I laid eyes on
this clothing rack. Not only is it
way more stylish than my previous situation, but it allows me to style my outfits in advance--and is still able to hold the hoard that won't fit in my closet. [We'll consider a closet clean-out my #1 2015 New Years Resolution...]
