For the holidays, I wanted to create something extra festive for my guests. This sangria is super easy and a definite crowd pleaser!
Directions:
To a create a cinnamon infused simple syrup, add 1 cup of water and cinnamon sticks in a small sauce pot and bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes, and strain out cinnamon sticks. Stir in 1 cup of sugar until dissolved and set aside. [Note: this will make a little more than you'll need, but you can save for other festive holiday drinks!]
In a large pitcher or beverage dispenser, mix together Pinot Grigio, cider, brandy, club soda, and 3-4 tablespoons [adjust to your taste] of cinnamon infused simple syrup. Stir well. Add a handful of cranberries, sliced apples, with a little thyme and chill for 2 hours or more. Serve chilled and add a fresh sprig of thyme for garnish. Cheers!
